This repair procedure takes a minimum of two people to complete. You are going to carefully lower the screen roller assembly onto the floor or work table which will make the repair less difficult. Then transfer the motor drive assembly from the original screen roller tube to the new replacement screen roll. You will then return the new screen roller assembly to the housing. Make sure AC power is off to the screen or the main circuit breaker is “off” before you begin.
1. Remove screen roll cover. Remove only three Philip head machine screws from each
end of the Cima housing. Lift the front edge of cover upward to release from main
housing. It is best to have 2 persons remove this cover. Carefully lift cover off
housing and place it at a distance away on the floor.
2. Remove electrical access cover (Fig 1). Cover is in place with 3 Philip head screws.
Disconnect the screen motor from controller by removing the wire twist nuts.

3. Cut the green ground wire coming from the motor. Allow ample wire to remain so that
re-attachment of the new incoming motor ground wire with a new wire nut can be
easily accomplished.
4. Remove screen roll assembly from housing. The roller / motor is secured in the motor
bracket with a large “C” shaped retaining ring. Remove this ring with a pair of needle
nose pliers. The entire screen roll is press fitted into the motor bracket from and idler
pin located at the other end of the screen tube. See photo of idler pin in Fig. 2 below.
Fig. 2 Idler end pin view - screen roller has been removed
Back off the large jam nut on the idler pin. Next back out the idler pin to allow the
screen roll tube to drop from the motor mount bracket. Once cleared from the motor
bracket you can then lower the entire screen roller assembly from the housing. Set the
screen roll assembly onto a couple of small blocks placed under each end of the roller
tube. This will suspend and protect the screen from contacting the floor or table.
5. Back out the Phillip head side line attachment screw on the motor end of the roller
tube. You don’t need to fully remove this screw. Remove the motor drive assembly
from the roller tube. Install motor drive assembly into the new replacement roller
tube. Re-tighten the Philip head side line screw.
6. Reinstall screen roller tube into housing using reverse procedure of the removal
steps. Make sure the motor’s limit switches face downward toward the
floor when raising the screen roll assembly back into the housing. At this time feed
the electrical wires through the end plate and align motor / tube assembly back into
mounting bracket. Re-tighten idler pin into tube bearing and secure with jam nut.
7. Re-connect all electrical wiring with wire nuts (match colors). Don’t forget to also re-
connect the new motor’s green ground lead.
8. Re- install the electrical cover and screen roller cover plate. Turn on AC power or
activate the main circuit breaker to “on”.
9. Carefully operate the screen and make any needed adjustments to the motor’s limit
switches. The “Yellow” limit switch adjusts the stopping position of the screen in the
up direction while the “White” limit switch adjusts the stopping position of the screen
in the down direction. Clockwise rotation of these switches will reduce stop settings
and a counter-clockwise rotation will increase the stop settings.
