What is it?
The Intelligent Motor Control IMC-100 is a state of the art AC motor control for projection screens and masking panels. Its small size allows easy mounting in electrical junction boxes and tight locations. It contains a built in microprocessor to allow individual addressability as well as more sophisticated triggering and sequencing of any number of additionally linked IMC controllers from switches, screen trigger inputs, home automation system using dry contacts or Internet Protocol (IP). The IMC controller can also be controlled via infrared.
How does it operate?
Pressing the wall switch in the “Down” mode will deploy the screen. The screen will
stop at its motor’s deployment setting. Pressing the wall switch to the “Up” mode will
retract the screen. If the trigger wire has been connected, the projector will activate the
screen to deploy when it is powered up. Conversely, when the projector is switched
off, the screen will retract. Never suddenly reverse the direction of the motor while it
is in motion. Exercise patience to allow the motor to fully cycle and stop before
changing directions.
What screen models use it?
Most small retractable electric screens can be connected to an IMC including:
- Luxus G2
- Cascade G1 and G2
- Stealth
- CIMA AC (Above Ceiling)
- CIMA BC (Below Ceiling)
- Visionary
How to install / replace an IMC control board
1. Unplug power cord or turn off circuit breaker.
2. Disconnect power / motor leads from IMC board by lifting the Phoenix connector off
the board.
3. Remove the four Philips head screws that secure the board to the mounting posts.
4. Remove switch connections from small LV connector block.
5. Connect LV switch connections to the new replacement board’s connector block. Do not over-tighten these screws.
6. Install new board onto mounting posts with the 4 Philips head screws.
Plug in any necessary RJ plugs to board’s RJ ports.
7. Insert the Phoenix power terminal plug onto the new board.
8. Turn on AC power and test operation of all components.
9. Job complete.
