Wrinkles in Your Fixed Frame Screen
Normally, you should not experience any wrinkles in your fixed frame movie screen. However, if you do???
If you have recently moved your screen to a new location, it's common to initially experience some wrinkles. These wrinkles were caused by repacking the screen for the move. Once you have reinstalled the screen, the wrinkles will eventually flatten out.
If the creases are severe, place the tensioned screen and frame in direct sunlight. The screen fabric will soften with heat, which will in turn help reduce creases. You can rub the creases from the backside of the screen with your fingertips to help eliminate. If the creases cannot be removed, call your Stewart dealer for a solution.
Perimeter puckers can be adjusted by slightly moving the male snap post on the slotted frame. Place your thumb on the back of the screen's snap and push the snap about 1/16" or so. You only need to make a small adjustment. In the event that the snap is not moving by your thumb, then use a small flat blade screwdriver to carefully tap it with a hammer. The bubble or pucker will look a bit better when you have finished but in fact it will take a few more days for the screen to respond to the new snap's position. The screen material will flatten out thus eliminating the perimeter pucker / wrinkle.
