These instructions are for situations in which the entire screen surface of a large projection screen (ie: T & G, Cascade Grande, Luxus Grande) must be cleaned. This type of cleaning is sometimes necessary due to the negative impact of long-term accumulation of dust or other substances onto the screen surface. The optical image surface is delicate and special care should be taken while cleaning to prevent damage. Never use a hard forceful scrubbing type action to clean any projection screen.
- Prepare a pail of warm water mixed with a liquid detergent solution. The type of detergent can be Simple Green, 409, Fantastik, or similar water- based cleaning solution. A liquid based citric cleaner may also be used for more stubborn stains. Never use abrasive powders, chemicals or solvents, as they will cause permanent damage to the screen. Also, prepare a pail of warm clear rinse water. Have a clean towel or chamois to absorb the rinse water.
- Clean the screen in approximate 4-ft. square sections starting at the top of
screen. Use a soft cellulose sponge to apply the water-solution to the screen. Follow this step with a clear rinse of the area. Use the towel or chamois to gently lift off the rinse water. Any excess spots of water that may be left on the screen will air dry in a few minutes. Avoid excess rubbing of the sponge and towels. Proceed to the next section of screen and repeat these cleaning steps until the entire job has been completed. Remember that it is best to clean from top to bottom of screen.
- Permanent type marks such as paint, ink, grease, etc. may be impossible
to clean. In these types of situations, the screen would have to be replaced. Please consult your dealer or the factory if the above methods do not produce acceptable results.
